Directors of the Future: We are rolling!

The main topic of this mobility was "shooting a short movie".We thought the students would be motivated to write scripts and shoot their own films.
The students, in the first phase of the work, confront and dialogue; then from authors, they became actors, directors, make-up artists, camera operators: they learnt to know cinematographic techniques and to put them into practice.
We divided the participants into homogeneous groups, each of which had participants from different countries. Each group decided the genre and plot of the short (5 min) film for which they then wrote a screenplay.

In Italy, our students are familiar with including this type of activity in their curriculum, especially because our school provides a graphic design course, making activities like filmmaking and scriptwriting commonplace. The use of tools such as Adobe Premiere in our school projects is customary.
As a result, participants experienced an increase in self-confidence through the creation of unique content. They also acquired expertise in movie scriptwriting and filming techniques. Upon returning to their respective schools, they were able to put this knowledge into practice in their classrooms, delivering more impressive presentations and sharing their experiences with non-participating students. Additionally, they seamlessly integrated this newfound knowledge with their academic subjects, thereby cultivating a more effective learning environment.
The students from other countries benefitted from the capabilities offered by the Italian school. In return, they enhanced the Italian students' scriptwriting skills, an area where they previously had some difficulty.

They all developed their language skills by using English in the process of shooting a short film. They also had the chance to improve team work by working with participants from different countries. The most beneficial role of this activity was that the participants would get more self-confidence. They also learned new things about the film industry of different countries. In the end of this activity, the students had a product.

Here are the products (movies) they created. Please click the links of the groups below.
